The lease on BNY Mellon's
London offices at Canary Wharf has been renewed for eight years.
Levels 40, 41, 43 and 47 to 49 are currently occupied by the organisation at One Canada Square and the new contract will kick in from January 1st 2014, Canary Wharf Group revealed.
A rent of £42.50 per sq ft will be paid by BNY Mellon, a leading asset management and securities services organisation that has
London offices across 152,226 sq ft of the building.
From the start of the lease, 18 rent-free months will be enjoyed by the company, which also has bases at 160 Queen Victoria Street, 8/9 Harbour Exchange, 30 Cannon Street and One Clove Crescent.
Commenting on the news, head of leasing at Canary Wharf Group Richard Archer said: "BNY Mellon has been a highly valued tenant at Canary Wharf for over 13 years and we are delighted that it has agreed to extend its occupation at Canary Wharf."
He added the lease renewal has provided "another vote of confidence" for Canary Wharf and London as a whole.
