British Land 'soon to snap up McLaren Construction for west London offices'
A contract for new west London offices is reportedly being awarded by British Land to McLaren Construction.

According to Construction Enquirer, the developer is close to revealing which company has secured the building work for Marble Arch House on Edgware Road. Sources close to the scheme have said McLaren has been picked as the top choice, ahead of Bam Construction and Wates.

Bennett's Associates Architects designed the mixed-use project, which includes 75,000 sq ft of new central London offices, a 5,000 sq ft restaurant, ten luxury residential apartments and retail space.

In January 2011, British Land purchased Marble Arch House, W1 from The Portman Estate. Practical completion of the development work is expected for the middle of 2013. At present, the site includes two mixed-use buildings located at 62-64 Seymour Street and 32-50 Edgware Road.

Commenting at the time of the agreement, British Land's head of offices Tim Roberts said: "Marble Arch House will offer high-quality accommodation at a time when supply will be limited in a West End location, which is being regenerated."
