Recent reports confirm that Amazon has launched an 80,000 sq ft requirement for short term office space in Central London as a precursor to a wider search for a major office campus in the capital. It is expected that the successful company will in time seek a long term office campus of up to 750,000 sq ft. This is believed to be one of the largest requirements to go live in the capital in the last two years. One location which might be able to accommodate such a large development is King’s Cross, however it is believed that Amazon may well have ruled out the location having been deterred by rival tenant Google, which in early January committed to a 1,000,000 sq ft campus there.
