London offices in Tech City 'chosen for strategic reasons'
New London offices are to be opened by a corporate events management firm at Tech City to enable it to better serve clients in the capital.

Smyle announced that to take advantage of next year's Olympic Games, a satellite office would be launched to operate alongside its headquarters in Hertford.

The organisation provides technical and creative services for media and live events and so decided that the congregation of technology and creative companies around the Old Street area would prove to be an ideal client base.

London & Partners, the official promotional organisation for the capital, welcomed the move.

Director of business tourism and major events at the body Tracy Halliwell commented: "Creative agencies such as Smyle really add something to London's overall profile as the world-leading events destination."

By November 2011, more than 600 companies had opened London offices in Tech City, up from around 200 firms in the same month of 2010.
