A ten-year lease for 42,000 sq ft of south-east offices has been agreed by computer security giant McAfee.
The international technology organisation selected space at Target House on Gatehouse Road in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, CoStar News reported.
This deal represents the first large-scale office letting of 2012 in the south-east of England, with sources close to the transaction citing a rent of approximately £15 per sq ft.
McAfee will occupy all of Target House and will benefit from a lease break in the sixth year.
In the capital, demand from the technology sector has rallied the popularity of
London offices, according to a new report from Knight Frank.
Last year, 1.3 million sq ft of
central London offices were taken up by IT and telecoms companies, a rise from 640,000 sq ft in 2010.
Nokia, O2, Google, Facebook, Apple and Expedia were some of the large technology organisations that acquired space in the city in 2011, meaning McAfee is in good company in taking up offices in the south-east.
