This week the property press has carried many articles on the completion of ‘The Shard’, Irvine Sellers’ 1,016 ft tower next to London Bridge station. The property is now Western Europe’s tallest building.
Seller said that he expected the 570,000 sq ft of offices to be fully occupied within two years. He expects to secure rents around £55.00 per sq ft on most of the space. The Qatari Prime Minister and Prince Andrew were present at the official inauguration of the property on Thursday of last week.
The Shard is one of a handful of skyscrapers being built in the City of London adding further prime London offices to the market.
Mellersh & Harding acted for Blue Rubicon in their acquisition of 15,000 sq ft of prime London Bridge offices at 6 More London, SE1. Continuing advice includes the current rent review on these offices. Other quality Southwark offices include the Blue Fin Building where Mellersh & Harding acted for Canonical in their acquisition of 16,000 sq ft.
