An article in the Evening Standard this week highlights that Westminster Council is looking to crack down on property developers’ plans to build more up market flats in Central London, many through the conversion of small office buildings to residential use. Over the last couple of years the number of planning consents being given for this change of use has increased as residential end values surge well above office values in London’s best locations.

Mellersh & Harding are presently marketing for sale 3 St James’s Place, an attractive period office building of just under 4,000 sq ft. Interest is expected from both owner/occupiers as an office and also from parties looking to convert back to a prime St James’s residence. Back
