The Beatles' former
Mayfair offices have been sold to for £31.85 million.
Located at 3 Savile Row, the structure served as the headquarters for Apple Corps, a firm established by members of the band, and had a recording studio in the basement. It was also where The Beatles' last concert took place in 1969.
Kier Group, which is involved with
property investment and development, sold the building to GHSR LLP on the condition that the lease is given to a commercial entity with a yearly rent of £1.2 million initially. It was valued at £13.7 million in Kier's official records back in June 2011.
The transaction will be completed by March next year once ongoing works on the structure have been completed.
Mayfair has long been seen as a prestigious location for businesses seeking a base in the capital, with its commercial spaces often commanding higher rents than elsewhere in London.
