London offices at Western Transit Shed secured by Hoare Lea
A 15-year lease for 22,000 sq ft of London offices at the Western Transit Shed in the King's Cross Central development has been signed.

Engineering firm Hoare Lea agreed to the deal to move its flagship base from Tottenham Court Road to the 67-acre site.

The organisation was behind the office and retail mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems at One New Change, a building which recently took home the Supreme Winner accolade at the Local Authority Building Control Awards 2011.

Hoare Lea is expected to relocate to the new London offices next autumn.

CoStar UK reported the engineering company's managing partner of the London office Miles Freeman as saying: "King's Cross is a superb development, with a well-developed sense of place, in a central, incredibly well-connected location."

He added that the site's "quality of design and commitment to sustainability" were important reasons for deciding to relocate its main London offices there.

The King's Cross Central area has its own new postcode - NC1 - and several office complexes, with the Western Transit Shed delivering 58,000 sq ft of London offices and 35,000 sq ft of retail space.
