A new £1.3 billion scheme that includes
London offices has been approved by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) Planning Committee.
Known as the International Quarter, the development would be located in Stratford City in the east of the capital and consist of four million sq ft of Grade A office space, 350 homes and a hotel.
The plans were put forward by London & Continental Railways (LCR) and Lend Lease.
Construction is scheduled to start in the spring of 2013, with occupation expected by the end of 2014, CoStar UK reported about the proposals being passed.
Chief executive of LCR David Joy was noted by the property resource as saying: "Planning permission is excellent news and the next milestone towards the delivery of an exceptional new commercial district for the capital that further establishes Stratford as a major focus for activity post-Games."
Businesses that choose to have
London offices in the International Quarter will be ten minutes away from St Pancras International and Liverpool Street train stations, while all of the other major transport hubs can be reached in approximately 30 minutes from Stratford.
Crossrail is also set to arrive in Stratford City by 2018.
