The Estates Gazette has recently commented that Transport for London (TFL) is looking at a possible disposal of their flagship 500,000 sq ft office block at 55 Broadway, London SW1.

TFL is based in a number of locations across London and the EG commented that the organisation had recently launched a 150,000 sq ft requirement for space on the South Bank. Their current occupation includes 300,000 sq ft of the Palestra Building on Blackfriars Road where TFL have recently regeared their lease extending it through to 2036 and where the owner Royal London Asset Management has recently sold the freehold to German fund DEKA.

David Mundy, Investment Partner at Mellersh & Harding commented that “overseas demand for central London residential opportunities remains strong. 55 Broadway could be a potential residential conversion of one of Victoria’s best known Art Deco office buildings.” Mellersh & Harding are actively involved in letting of offices in Victoria for both landlords and tenants.
